Welcome to Panther Country - Hilda Elizondo Hired to Serve as Director of Special Education at Aransas Pass ISD

Aransas Pass ISD Superintendent Wayne Bennett has announced the hiring of Hilda Elizondo to serve as the District’s Director of Special Education. Elizondo will join APISD after most recently serving as the Program Manager for Special Education at the Region 2 Education Service Center.

Elizondo has 25 years of experience in the field of education. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Master of Science Special Education from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, and plans to pursue a doctorate.

Elizondo began her career in Beeville, where her passion for supporting students with disabilities first took root. Over the course of her career, she has served in a wide range of special education roles, including Paraprofessional, Special Education Teacher, Educational Diagnostician, Program Specialist with the Texas Education Agency, and Director of Special Education and Special Programs.

Throughout her professional journey, Elizondo has remained deeply committed to advocating for students with disabilities, strengthening special education compliance and instructional practices, and supporting school systems across South Texas. She brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and dedication to her new role with Aransas Pass ISD.

Elizondo expressed her enthusiasm in anticipation of serving APISD families, stating “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to support your children as they grow and develop into successful, fulfilled individuals. I look forward to serving alongside the dedicated staff of Aransas Pass Independent School District and partnering with your families and community.”
