The Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees met on May 12, 2025, and voted unanimously to name Mr. Wayne Bennett as Interim Superintendent. Mr. Bennett was previously appointed Acting Superintendent following the departure of former Superintendent Barnes on May 1.
At this time, the Board has no immediate plans to initiate a search process for a permanent superintendent. The Board and Mr. Bennett look forward to the opportunity of working together to maintain the District’s focus on its commitment to academic excellence for all students.
The Board expresses its gratitude to Mr. Bennett for stepping into this leadership role and will continue to keep the APISD community informed of any future developments.
