Dear APISD Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

Yesterday at Aransas Pass High School we experienced an emergency situation involving one of our students. It is with deep regret that we inform you that the student has passed away. This loss, especially considering the surrounding events and circumstances, is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school. Students and staff will react in different ways to events of this nature, and we recognize the importance of having support available to assist both staff and students in need. Our professional school counselors are available in the school setting to assist students as they express their feelings related to yesterday’s emergency and loss. If you would like additional information or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your child's campus counselor.

Thank you for your support of our school district as we work together to cope with this tragic event. Please observe your child closely over the next several days and weeks to watch for signs of distress, which may indicate a need for additional support and guidance. We will make every effort to assist you and your child as needed.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions.

Sincerely,

Cara Cooke
